Version History
How SuperFunnel version history works for pages and quizzes, including how to revert or redeploy a previous published version.
Overview
Every time you publish a page variant or quiz, SuperFunnel creates a save point — a snapshot of that build at the moment of publication. If something goes wrong after a change, or you want to revert to an earlier design or configuration, you can restore any previous published version at any time.
Without publishing, changes exist only in your workspace editor. They can be overwritten by further edits and are not recoverable if lost. Publishing is therefore not just about going live — it is also how you protect your work.
Use version names and descriptions as labels for your save points
When publishing, you are prompted to add a version name and optional description. Treat these like commit messages — briefly describe what changed, such as "New headline copy", "Added GTM tag", or "Summer campaign layout". This makes it much easier to identify the version you want to revert to if you ever need to.
Step-by-Step Guide to Revert a Page or Quiz to a Previous Version
Version history is available for both pages and quizzes. The steps are the same, but where you find the version history menu differs slightly.
Open the version history menu
The entry point depends on whether you're working with a page or a quiz:
- Pages — navigate to the page overview, where you see the page's variant list, then click the ⋮ in the top-right corner of the page overview
- Quizzes — open the quiz in the editor, then click the ⋮ in the top-right corner of the editor
In both cases, select Version History from the menu that appears.
Find the version to restore
You'll see a list of published versions, each showing:
- Version name and description (if added at publish time)
- Email of the team member who published it
- When it was published (e.g. 4 months ago)
The version currently live is marked Current in green.
Open the version's options
Click the ⋮ on the right side of the version record you want to restore. Two options will appear:
- Redeploy this version — immediately makes this version live without editing and publishing
- Restore page content to this version — loads the version back into your editor so you can review or make further changes before publishing
Not sure? Use 'Restore page content to this version'
If you want to review the version before it goes live — or make any tweaks — choose Restore page content to this version. This gives you a chance to edit before publishing.
(Optional) Publish the restored version
If you chose Restore page content to this version, the build will be loaded into your editor but will not go live automatically. Make any final edits, then publish to make it live for visitors.
Summary
Saving versions with clear names is a best practice to make it easy to revert to the right version when needed.
